Allegheny Valley Joint Sewage Authority

The Allegheny Valley Joint Sewage Authority ("AVJSA") is wastewater treatment facility located in Harmar Township that provides wastewater treatment services to residents and businesses in Cheswick Borough, Fox Chapel Borough, Harmar Township, Hampton Township, Richland Township, Springdale Borough, Springdale Township, and West Deer Township.

Established in 1959, the AVJSA's five-member governing board is made up of one resident from the founding municipalities (Cheswick Borough, Harmar Township, Springale Borough, and Springdale Township), with each municipality receiving one additional representative for a one year term every four years.
