Planning Commission
The Harmar Township Planning Commission acts as an advisor to the Board of Supervisors for a wide array of planning related issues. Planning Commission obligations include, but are not limited to, reviewing new Zoning Ordinances, making proposed amendments to Zoning Ordinances, and reviewing Subdivision and Land Development applications. After a review of an application or new Zoning Ordinance, the Planning Commission may recommend fixes to a proposal. If no changes are required, the Planning Commission will either recommend approval or denial of the proposal to the Board of Supervisors.
The Harmar Township Planning Commission is composed of five appointed members, who are all residents of the Township, and all serve 4-year terms. If any resident is interested in serving on the Planning Commission, they should submit an application to the Township Office. Public meetings are held, as needed, at 6:00 p.m. on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. Please note that applications to appear before the Planning Commission must be submitted to the Township at least 10 days before the next scheduled meeting. Meetings are cancelled if no applications have been submitted.
