Highbury Park

Parks & Recreation Facility

     Highbury Park is a 3.2 acre neighborhood park located in the Chapel Downs residential area located off of Highbury Road.  Park amenities include: off-street parking, a ball field, a tennis court, a basketball court, a play structure, a walking trail, public restrooms, and a pavilion for rent to Harmar citizens.  

 

Terrace Drive Playground

     The Terrace Drive playground is situated on just over two (2) acres of open space next to Wise Hill Road and Terrace Drive.  Park amenities include; a small climbing structure, a basketball court, a walking trail, plenty of open space, and a small pavilion and public restrooms available for rent to Harmar citizens.  There is a small designated parking area for visitors.  

 

Acme Neighborhood Park

Parks & Recreation Facility

     Acme Park is a 1.6 acre neighborhood park in the Acme neighborhood of Harmar Township.  The park is situated between Herron Avenue, Grant Street, and Jefferson Avenue.  Park amenities currently include a basketball court, tennis court, a baseball field, swings, and a recently constructed climbing structure with sliding boards.  There is a small pavilion and public restrooms available for rent to Harmar citizens.  Parking is available along the streets. 

     The Harmar Township Board of Supervisors recently secured a grant through the Department of Conservation and Natural Resource ("DCNR") that will allow the Township to renovate the basketball court, replace the tennis court with a hockey ring, and upgrade the overall facility.  

 

Harmar Hurricanes Soccer Fields

Harmar Hurricanes Soccer Field

     Home of the Harmar Hurricanes, the Township owns the 8-acre soccer complex on Freeport Road (behind the Township Municipal Office Building) that consists of three (3) soccer fields.  The facility also includes an 8 and under field, a concession stand, public restrooms, picnic tables and an ADA accessible walking trail.  Parking is available in the lot behind the Municipal Building.  The parking lot adjacent to the Harmar Hurricanes Soccer Fields is, also, the designated Safe Exchange Area.
